What Is a Tack Coat and Why It Matters for BlackGold Oil Spreading Projects?
A tack coat is a thin, strategic layer of asphalt emulsion sprayed onto an existing surface. Its job? Create an unbreakable bond between old pavement and your fresh asphalt overlay—or between each new lift and any vertical faces (curbs, gutters, manholes) the mix will be placed against.

SS-1H is an anionic slow setting asphalt emulsion designed for use as a tack coat, in fine-graded mixes, dust control, fog seal and specialty applications eliminating tire tracking. It is formulated with a softer base (Higher penetration) than Sealcoat specific emulsion for added adhesion factor as well as durability.

HPS (No Track Tack)
HPS is a strong, precisely engineered non-tracking polymer tack coat designed as an adhesive interlayer between surfaces. It helps rejuvenate the existing substrate by restoring light ends while creating a clean, effective bond with the new surface layer. Formulated to cure upon immediate contact, HPS allows treated pavements to be driven on and paved over right away, eliminating the need for expensive construction delays, road closures, or post-construction cleanup.

CleanTac is an anionic fast setting asphalt emulsion designed for use as a Fast-drying tack coat, in fine-graded mixes, dust control, fog seal and specialty applications eliminating tire tracking. It is formulated with a harder base than SS-1H for use in warmer climates. Designed to hold asphalt layers together with then new and old surfaces, but not to tires and equipment, CleanTac keeps cleanup to a minimum.
